ABSOLUTE ZERO AND INTERFACE AT SEATTLE ART FAIR

Very pleased to officially participate in the main event of the inaugural Seattle Art Fair with both SEASON and PUNCH Gallery from July 30 - August 2 at the CenturyLink Field Event Center. Not only am I psyched to show new and recent work with both the gallery that represents me as well as the cooperative space I'm a member of; but also to have the chance to see my projects alongside contemporaries and colleagues who will share the exhibition hall with Platform Gallery, James Harris Gallery, Mariane Ibrahim Gallery, and Greg Kucera Gallery (Seattle), Upfor (Portland) in addition to bitforms, PACE, Gagosian, David Zwirner, Zürcher Gallery (New York) and Charlie James Gallery (Los Angeles) + many others.

Working alongside our Seattle partners, we are breaking the boundaries of the traditional art fair to ignite the imagination of the city and the global arts community.
— Max Fishko, Director of Seattle Art Fair

SEASON, a refined program that operates without fear or favor sagely directed by Robert Yoder, will exhibit ABSOLUTE ZERO; a large-scale neon sculpture from early 2015 that was the IRL centerpiece of a physical installation paired with an online component accessed via NewHive. The piece being presented at the fair (originally shown in all blacked-out gallery that was never open and only viewable through heavily tinted windows) is both a simulacram of the digital video it emulates and a detached, stand-alone meditation on social media loneliness, missed connections and human frailty in a data-saturated world defined by a network's promise it can never fulfill.

Seattle is an incredible city, very 21st-century, very prosperous and future-oriented, and with great art patronage. But not everyone there is on the international art fair circuit all the time, so the fair will provide a great way for dealers to engage with them and see what they’re looking for.
— Robert Goff, Director at David Zwirner Gallery

INTERFACE, a new piece and first look at an in-depth series, will be presented with diverse Pacific Northwest collective and group-run cooperative space PUNCH Gallery. Derived from the molecular form of silicon, the basis of glass and data storage, the work is a prismatic visual poem alluding to the micro/macro forces that define both a digitally driven world and our high-speed connection to a more expansive universal other all in one form. Displayed atop a fabricated aluminum pallet with a familiar MacBook Pro feel; it's simultaneously the software of perception presented on a ubiquitous shipping commodity and an openly potent play on scale.

The fair has been designed to showcase the vibrant culture and diversity of the Pacific Northwest. We are excited to be creating an immersive, city-wide experience for not only Seattle residents, but established collectors and international art patrons.
