Pleased to announce my inclusion in BLACK BOX 2.0 curated by Julia Fryett and Anne Couillaud. The festival is a sprawling series of multimedia exhibitions partly coinciding with the Seattle Independent Film Festival connecting the region with artists from around the globe showing work that "increasingly blurs the distance between reality and fiction in a world shaped by Hollywood, social media, gaming and surveillance." Burn Your Blog will be on view at the Black Box Hub from May 7, 2015-June 7, 2015.

BLACK BOX presents renowned artists who are collected by major museums but have not yet been exhibited in this region. It is also an essential platform for emerging talent at the forefront of the avant-garde who work with mobile apps, interactive media, data visualization, augmented reality, virtual reality, gaming, social media, generative software, surveillance, biotech, holography, robotics and more.

The comprehensive festival program includes screenings, exhibitions, artist talks, discussion panels, educational events and special projects. BLACK BOX is curated thematically across multiple platforms in diverse locations throughout the community, from movie theaters, living rooms, galleries, museums and public spaces to shipping containers. An online channel premieres and distributes exclusive content to audiences in Seattle and beyond.

Aligned closely with Aktionsart’s mission, BLACK BOX remains in permanent beta mode. The festival is responsive and adaptive to the transitory nature of new media and the shifting landscape of contemporary art.
